Like POPoetry's first recording, this cassette features poems from two of David Horner's published books. This time, Mmmmm and Body Noises. Prior to recording, the two Davids sat down and listed a number of poems from these collections which have always gone down well in live readings. Then, as with the first cassette, there's a piece specially written for the recording. Once both were satisfied they had a good variety of poems, then David Jones began to create the musical accompaniments. He says, 'This time things were easier than with the first recordings - we'd worked together a good deal and knew what each of us wanted from the project. Also a number of poems recorded here we had included in our live performances, so the music had already evolved.' David Horner reckons the final outcome is lot nearer what he's always been after from POPoetry - 'The recordings all feel very sharp. The music really gives each poem a brand new lease of life. I just hope whoever plays it gets as much fun and laughter out of it as we did in making it.'
